Supporting Lion’s Swimarathon 2020
07 February 2020
BDO Jersey is proud to be supporting Damon Greber, Director Risk Advisory Services, in his position as Chair of the 2020 event
Damon will be involved in the running of the event and BDO have entered a team.
Damon said the following about his role in the Swimarathon, ‘As this year’s chair, my aim is not only to raise as much money as we can for our local beneficiaries, but also ensure it continues to be a community event. My employer BDO, like many others helps this by providing time out from work to be at the event. Others provide matched funding. The theme this year is Helping Teenagers Thrive and nearly 4,000 people will swim across the five days. Corporates, families, schools, government, clubs, associations and other charities all come together for some fun, a challenge and in aid of great causes. I am very proud of the event and look forward to seeing how much money we raise this year.’
The Lion’s Swimarathon is an annual five-day swimming event and is the longest running community fundraiser in Jersey. This year the event is taking place on 11-15 March 2020 at Les Quennevais Sports Centre. The theme for the event is enabling teenagers to thrive and supports five local charities. These charities include, Brighter Futures, Brightly, Jersey Youth Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust and YouMatter.
BDO have participated in the Swimarathon for the last three years and we are excited to be involved again this year with a team and by supporting Damon in his CSR efforts.
